Disability assistance and parking permit

You qualify for a disability assistance permit if:

You have been approved for a place in a home for people with disabilities. The application must be stamped and signed by the institution manager in the signature field where the GP usually signs
You have been granted a disability parking permit
You have a personal assistant provided by Almannaverkið (the social agencies). Documentation for the need of a carer must be submitted
You have been granted a car allowance (covering purchase or running costs) in accordance with the Public Assistance Act
You are a member of Blindafelag Føroya (the Faroese Society for the Blind)

You qualify for a disability parking permit if:

You have been granted a car allowance (covering purchase or running costs) in accordance with the Public Assistance Act
You are a certified disability bus driver for people with severe disabilities for transport to and from leisure activities
Disability parking permits may also be issued and renewed for people who struggle to walk, who have reduced physical function or who have other health complications which significantly affect their ability to
- travel
- to maintain or obtain a job, or
- complete an education
